Rutgers University’s Recovery House Program is the Recipient. Wellspring will also recognize the First Ever Middlesex County Recovery Champions.

Wellspring Center for Prevention is pleased to announce that it will celebrate the 2017 National Recovery Month by dedicating its “Tree of Hope” to The Rutgers University Recovery House program.

The “Tree of Hope” is awarded annually to an organization that promotes recovery from addiction.

A ceremony to recognize Rutgers University Recovery House Program will be held Tuesday, September 19th. This is the second time the agency has been awarded a Tree of Hope, the first time was in 2003.

“Wellspring is recognizing the Rutgers Recovery House because that is where students are able to enjoy a supportive environment and support each other’s sobriety while forming meaningful personal relationships based around friendship, sobriety and their college experiences, “ said the agency’s Executive Director & CEO, Ezra Helfand. “ We are impressed by the fact that the Recovery House provides a 12-month housing option; easy access to University resources; Counseling, Alcohol & Other Drug Assistance Program & Psychiatric Services (CAPS), medical services, on campus 12-Step meetings and recovery; and, counseling.”

This year, Wellspring is launching a new effort during Recovery Month. Individuals who, in the opinion of the Wellspring Tree of Hope Committee have gone “above and beyond” to foster recovery in the community, will recognized as the 2017 Recovery Champions. The identify of both individuals will be announced at the event.

Wellsprings’ annual Tree of Hope campaign is designed to raise the consciousness of our neighbors to the fact that addiction is an illness from which many do recover, and to celebrate those recoveries. This annual event is one of the agency’s primary fundraising vehicles and supports their confidential information and referral Helpline, which helps over 800 individuals and families annual to begin their journey of recovery.
