Description: Healing is nothing new. The concept of ancient therapy and healing traditions will be discussed along with Buddhist psychology, mindfulness, Acceptance and commitment therapy. Topics related to neurobiology and how suffering arises from our ‘ancient’ brains will be covered. This class will be experientially focused on giving attendees concrete ways to adapt and bring interventions into their work with clients that may have a hard time seeing the value. Nontraditional recovery resources like Dharma Recovery will be covered as well to provide resources for service providers.
