Description: This training will attempt to clarify what Addiction Recovery entails as a process of change that goes beyond abstinence to improved health and wellness as well as quality of life. We will explore the individual person’s right to build a meaningful life for themselves. We will look at the whole person (mind, body and spirit) both prior to recovery and when in recovery. Twelve-step philosophies will be examined, as will what it means to be “in recovery, achieve recovery and remain in. Addiction as a brain disease; the effects on the whole person: mind, body and spirit. Defining and differentiating: Abstinence; sobriety; recovery and wellness. Stages of Recovery (Early, Middle and Late).

This course has been approved for six (6) renewal credits.
