In this course, participants will identify major drug categories and learn about the addiction spectrum from abstinence to dependency and different models of ATOD abuse in all contexts of the Bio-psycho-social model. Defense mechanisms common to addicts and alcoholics will also be discussed. This is a core class for those planning to take the CPS exam and an excellent refresher for more seasoned professionals. This class reminds us how we can make a difference in the lives of our clients or in the communities where we work.

- This registration is for BOTH days of training (Thursday & Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
- Purchase Orders or checks are NOT accepted.
- If you are using a NJPN scholarship certificate, please be sure to insert the number provided to you in the designated space in the online registration form.
- All classes are held virtually via Zoom. Log-in information will be shared in advance of each class.
Cancellation and Refund policy
- If you need to cancel your registration, please provide at least one (1) business day’s notice. All sales are final and no refunds will be issued. However, you may request a course credit that can be applied to future classes within the next three months.
Each class starts promptly at 9AM.
Wellspring’s CPS courses are approved for six (6) initial and renewal hours towards Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credentials issued by the Addictions Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ) (Provider #208)
