The NJ Division of Consumer Affairs requires that all L/CADCs complete a continuing education course in Legal Standards. This course in Legal Standards pertaining to alcohol and drug counseling in NJ during the initial biennial period pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:34C-5.2(d). This course provides an overview of changes in laws and regulations, including the Uniform Enforcement Act and continuing education. In addition, participants will review regulations related to clinical supervision and telehealth. The course will also address clinical areas of practice such as confidentiality & duty to warn. Participants will review elements of professional conduct, including working within the scope of practice, sexual misconduct and harassment, as well as self-reporting. This course also focuses on clinical documentation, including electronic health records.
This course satisfies the Initial Legal Standards 6-hour course & may be taken to satisfy the 3-hour renewal course for this renewal period.

In order for you to receive full credit for this virtual course, you will need a computer/smart device with internet, camera, and microphone. Very important: This training is synchronous and interactive – no working, driving, nor traveling during the session. To earn a certificate, all participants are required to visibly attend on-camera as if “in-person” for the entire course.
Where? This course will be delivered via Zoom. Instructions to join the class will be emailed prior to the class!
All classes are $125.00 each. Payment can be by Debit or Credit card ONLY. No purchase orders or checks will be accepted. Once you have registered you will get a confirmation e-mail.
These courses are approved for six renewal hours (unless otherwise stated) toward the Addiction Counselor License and Certification (LCADC and CADC) in New Jersey. (Provider #208).
