Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) seems to be the new and popular harm reduction treatment, but what does it really mean? MAT treatment has been used since 2002 and is considered to be the gold standard to treat opioid dependent people, but less than 40% of people receive this life saving medication. What is the current view on MAT and where are we headed with it? This course will look at this controversial topic and examine the decision-making process and the implementation of MAT programs.
