Wellspring Center for Prevention offers numerous in-person training courses for prevention and addiction counseling professionals, as well as online awareness and prevention training courses through our partners, Mindcross Training.

Below is our complete current course catalog for CADCs and LCADCs, listed by category:

Online CADC Courses

These courses were developed and designed by experienced social services professionals and have been approved for both initial and renewal hours for multiple credentials. They can be taken 24/7 from any computer with access to the Internet.

The courses use the latest training technology for an informative, engaging experience. Once purchased using the safe and secure PayPal, you can start the courses immediately. The courses are a low-cost, effective alternative to sitting in a classroom. Course outlines are available for download and certificates can be printed immediately after passing the post-test. Once you log in, you will have 90 days to complete the course and can spread it out over as many sessions as you like. Courses are approved for 6 hours of credit, though they will normally only take 2-3 hours to complete due to the online format.

CADC/LCADC Renewal Courses

In addition to Wellspring’s online CADC courses which can be taken toward initial certification or license, as well as the renewal of those credentials (and many others), Wellspring has designed a monthly series of advanced courses for Addiction Counselors who have already earned their CADC or LCADC. These courses are specialized to bring the most up-to-date research in the field to your practice. By sharing a classroom with other seasoned professionals, you have the opportunity to learn from each other and take your skills to the next level. Each year, all new courses are developed to keep your training current and expand your knowledge base.

Below is a sampling of our CADC/LCADC renewal courses. Please check our Events Page for the most up-to-date listing of upcoming courses.

Mandatory Legal Standards Training

Wellspring Center for Prevention is pleased to host this Mandatory Legal Standards training presented via ZOOM.   These trainings satisfy the mandatory requirement for the 2022 renewal application for all NJ certified and licensed substance use disorder counselors as established by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs (N.J.A.C.13:34C-5.2 d). This 6-hour training is available to all qualified LCADC or CADC certification holders who have been certified since august of 2018 and have NOT yet completed an initial Mandatory Legal Standards training. In order for you to receive full credit for this virtual course, you will need a computer/smart device with internet, camera, and microphone. Very important: This training is synchronous and interactive — no working, driving, or traveling during the session. To earn a certificate, all participants are required to visibly attend on-camera as if “in-person” for the entire course.

Screening and Interventions with the SUD Population

How do you direct the course of SUD Treatment? How do you know that the screening tools and interventions used are reliable and will get you the results that you need? This course will look at screening tools and interventions used with this specific population. We will look at behavioral characteristics, evidenced-based tools, client needs, and various assessment instruments.

Medical and Recreational Marijuana

This is not your parent’s marijuana anymore. Marijuana is sweeping the nation at a swift rate, but what do you really know about it? Do you know the difference between medical and recreational marijuana? This course will look at marijuana and how it affects everyone from the real estate market to suicide. How can there be more marijuana dispensaries than Mcdonald’s and Starbucks combined? Come to the course and find out.
