Wellspring Center for Prevention, a non-profit, community-based health organization providing substance use prevention, education, information, and referral services, is opening a satellite office in Neptune Township. Located at 3600 Route 66, Suite 150, with office hours initially by appointment only.
Since 1980, Wellspring has been providing a wide variety of services in several formats to meet the needs of a diverse audience. The mission of the Wellspring Center for Prevention is to promote the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through the prevention of addiction-related problems across the lifespan.
“Last year our agency was fortunate to have been awarded a contract by the Monmouth County Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Office of Addiction Services. The contract covers Community-Based Alcohol/Drug Abuse “Selective and Indicated” Prevention Services,” said Wellspring Executive Director and CEO Ezra Helfand. “We’re opening this satellite office in order to better-serve the needs of Monmouth County and its school districts.”
Wellspring is committed to implementing evidenced-based programs, providing effective education, helping to support comprehensive environmental strategies, and promoting the health and wellness of individuals and communities. We believe that effective alcohol and other substance use prevention is everyone's responsibility - adolescents, schools, parents and communities. This is why our programs are designed for a variety of audiences and are delivered daily to organizations and groups.
“At Wellspring, we implement effective approaches to school-based alcohol and other drug prevention include teaching students how to resist peer influences, improving life skills, involving families,” said Deputy Director Helen Varvi, “and by doing so we are provided with opportunities to become involved in positive experiences with others in the school and community.”
