Wellspring Center for Prevention has provided addiction and recovery services in the form of training and education since 1980. We are proud to work as a nonprofit, community-based health organization in Middlesex and Monmouth and surrounding counties.
Our Mission
Wellspring Center for Prevention is a private nonprofit agency serving the community members and organizations of Middlesex and Monmouth Counties. We are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through our quality prevention and early intervention services. Our programs promote sound mental health, effective family functioning, and awareness of the devastating effects of substance misuse and dependency.
Our Programs
Wellspring Center for Prevention provides substance abuse prevention, education, information, and referral services to county residents, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, municipal alliances and social service agencies. Wellspring is supported by grants, contracts and generous contributions from public and private donors. As a result, many of our services are offered to the public at no cost. We believe that drug and alcohol use should be talked about in a non-judgmental and educationally sound way so that all who seek guidance can be empowered to make informed decisions. Our services are professional, confidential and affordable. We’re here to help you.

We are a community-based health organization providing prevention, education, information and referral services to Middlesex County. Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities through the prevention of addiction-related problems.
Our East Brunswick headquarters manages all Wellspring grants, events and programs, including the Coalition for Healthy Communities and the Pathways program at Carteret High School. Our staff is committed to providing the best services to our communities, which includes answering the helpline, educating youth in various county schools, teaching parents how to help their children, and providing information at community events.
Our East Brunswick location features our Resource Center. Our Resource Center is more than online or printed information; it is also the expertise available to you through our experienced staff of Certified Prevention Specialists. We are here to answer your questions, provide technical assistance so you can develop your own presentation utilizing the information you found here, or even to schedule one of our Certified Prevention Specialists to present to your school or community-based group in person. Our satellite office takes care of all of Wellspring’s Monmouth County’s grants and programs, such as the Footprints for Life (FFL) program, which helps children build a strong foundation of social, emotional and life skills; the LifeSkills Training (LST) program, which offers a comprehensive approach to reducing youth violence and substance abuse; and LST for Parents, which is a program to help parents and guardians raising youth in Keansburg.
This office also coordinates educational presentations in school districts throughout Monmouth County, including Keansburg, Asbury Park, Red Bank, Keyport and Long Branch.

We are proud to work as a nonprofit, community-based health organization in Middlesex, Monmouth and surrounding counties. Our staff members visit local schools, attend community events, speak at professional development seminars, and publish relevant blog content in an effort to shed light on the devastating effects of substance misuse and addiction.
We also aim to serve as a resource to individuals, families, and organizations that have been impacted by substance abuse. Through our help line and online self-help tool, our Preventionists can help to find an appropriate addiction recovery programs, and help individuals gain the necessary knowledge and tools to face the challenges associated with alcohol and drug misuse.
Wellspring’s School-Based Clinical Services, a rapidly expanding division of Wellspring Center for Prevention is changing the nature of in-school clinical services throughout Middlesex County, NJ. We provide mental health and supportive counseling to students in their school buildings. In addition, the programs include future planning, assistance with decision making, academic advocacy and additional activities aimed at the healthy development of the youth in our schools.
