Research shows that the transition from elementary to middle school can be a high risk time for youth. At this time, young people often face social challenges, such as learning to get along with a wider group of peers. It is at this stage, early adolescence, that children are likely to encounter drug use for the first time. In this film, young people discuss the kinds of changes to expect in middle school; how they handle new freedom, choices, and peer pressure; who they turn to for help and support; what they do when they feel overwhelmed; and why it's important to be involved in different activities.
