Pathways Freshman Transition Program Successfully Implemented

By Jelysa Hernandez, Clinician I The first-ever Pathways Freshman Transition Program was definitely a hit! The program consisted of 32 incoming CHS freshman and 10 mentors. Our mentors were chosen based on their attitude, positive behavior, and willingness to help others. These mentors will assist the freshman as needed during the school year and create a sense of encouragement. All campers participated team building activities including human knot, Coke and Pepsi, and hit the deck. They also enjoyed playing sports together during the week. On Tuesday, all campers went to the NJ State Theatre to see the movie Wonder . Students were able to learn the effects of bullying and understand the importance of kind gestures towards others.
