Description: This class focuses on the dysregulation of the brain, body, and nervous system from addiction and co-occurring issues. Using education on the brain from Koob and Volkow (neuroscience about addiction), attachment theory, and some polyvagal theory, the focus will be on incorporating somatic practices (including mindfulness) into both individual and group treatment. The purpose of this class is to give attendees a new lens through which to understand and treat the people they work with. A significant focus will be on utilizing skills that help ground and provide a deeper connection to concepts used in addiction treatment.

- All classes are held virtually via Zoom. Log-in information will be shared in advance of each class
Virtual Attendance and Participation Requirements
This is a synchronous, interactive virtual training. To receive full credit and a certificate of completion, participants must attend the full session on camera with access to a working microphone and participate as they would in an in-person class. Participants may not work, drive, travel, or engage in other distracting activities during the training. Participants who do not follow these requirements may be removed from the class and will not be eligible to receive a certificate of completion or refund.
This course has been approved for six (6) renewal credits.
