
Interested in earning your Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential in New Jersey? CPS courses are professional development trainings designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to prevent substance misuse, promote mental health, and support community well-being. These courses are approved by the Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ) and count toward the education hours required for initial certification or renewal.
The purpose of this course is to help students develop a community-based prevention plan. Students will be able to develop a plan utilizing a needs and resource assessment. This includes creating goals and measurable objectives designed to meet the needs of the community. Students will also learn relevant strategies and methods to achieve the objectives. At the end of this course, the student should be able to: identify sources of research information to support program planning, identify activities to achieve objectives, identify appropriate models, strategies and methods, and write clear, measurable outcome objectives.

- This registration is for BOTH days of training (Thursday & Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).
- Purchase Orders are NOT accepted.
- If you are using a NJPN scholarship certificate, please be sure to insert the number provided to you in the designated space in the online registration form.
- All classes will be held at virtually via Zoom. Attendance log-in information will be shared with those who signed up for the class, in advance.
Each class starts promptly at 9AM.
Wellspring’s CPS courses have been approved for six (6) initial and renewal hours towards Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credentials issued by the Addictions Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCBNJ) (Provider #208)
