The opioid epidemic is not decreasing, but what does this mean for intervention and treatment?  How did we arrive to where we are now and where are we headed?  This course will look at the current opioid situation in New Jersey and what is being done about it, from MAT to harm reduction techniques, such as medical marijuana and Narcan.  We will address the devastating consequences from opioid use, such as Opioid Use Disorder, overdoses and women using while pregnant.  Types of treatment and interventions will be addressed for clients who use opioids and their support systems.
