This training will look at the state of the current Opiate Epidemic and how we got here. An overview of addiction as a "brain disease" coupled with the addictive potential of the Opiates and environmental factors will be explored. We will review background information on heroin and opioids as well as their impact. Treatment options including Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the context of Harm Reduction will be explored. Learn and enhance skills that can help you protect the safety of those struggling with opioid addiction.

Our courses courses have been approved for six initial and renewal hours (unless otherwise stated) toward the Addiction Counselor License and Certification (LCADC and CADC) in New Jersey.
