Americans nationwide did their part to reduce the opioid crisis by bringing the DEA and its more than 4,200 local and tribal law enforcement partners a record-setting 912,305 pounds—456 tons—of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal at more than 5,300 collection sites. That is almost six tons more than was collected at last spring’s event. This brings the total amount of prescription drugs collected by DEA since the fall of 2010 to 9,015,668 pounds, or 4,508 tons. Now in its 8th year, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events continue to remove ever-higher amounts of opioids and other medicines from the nation’s homes, where they could be stolen and abused by family members and visitors, including children and teens. 3rd Annual Pathways Fatherhood Bowling Event Brings Joy to Participants

outside-group
Written by Lisa Lussier, LSW, MSW On Saturday October 7th, Pathways held their third annual Fatherhood Bowling event, at the Woodbridge Bowling Center on Main Street in Woodbridge. The event created a fun and interactive platform for middle and high school students and their fathers or a significant male in the child’s life to spend the afternoon together. This wonderful event was made possible through a grant from the New Jersey Office of Faith Based Initiatives, as a way to celebrate the important role a father or significant male figure can play in a child’s life. Almost one hundred participants attended the event, including community members from the United States Army, the Carteret Police Department, Carteret Middle School and even the father of a Pathways employee. The entire bowling center was reserved for this event. Participants were treated to bowling, professional family pictures, food and fun. To help the good times continue,...

The Harmony FSC will be hosting a workshop this Thursday (7/13) titled, "The Art of Co-Parenting" at 5:00 pm. We have Kareem Lovelace, from the Youth Advocate Program's Fatherhood Healthy Relationships Initiative, who will be joining us to facilitate the session. We are inviting dads of all ages and stages to join us in this interactive session, as we explore some of the difficulties and challenges of co-parenting. We know it is an issue among both parents, but we are looking to create a safe space for males and gentlemen to connect and find positive solutions. The workshop will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, including refreshments and childcare for the gentlemen who attend. It will also be offered in both English and Spanish to accommodate attendees.

Pathways Holds Successful Fatherhood Event
Pathways School Based Youth Services program at Carteret High School is invested in the Fathers Matter campaign and has received a grant from the Office of Faith Based Initiatives to bolster the father focused programming.
