Women--Opioids-2

From Risk to Resiliency – Focus on Women across the Lifespan

Women are at particular risk for substance misuse as compared to their male counterparts.Women are impacted by the opioid epidemic at noticeable higher rates than males and alcohol abuse affects women differently than it affects men, even when they drink smaller amounts.Women need unique and specific prevention and intervention strategies to address the factors that put them at risk.Participants will have raised awareness of the increase in substance misuse by women, the role of early identification and the importance of self-care as an effective coping mechanism.
